If it's in the open position and I try to close it Aug 8, 2017 · My rear lift gate on 07 tahoe opens and closes its self weather the key is in the ignition or not, opens 1/2 way closes 3/4 then all the way up and all the way down, sometimes it sets off the car alarm- it will do this non stop until battery runs down, only way to keep it closed is to lock rear door with switch above middle console and then yoiu can hear motor still trying to open and close gate. When I use the electronic opener, it will raise about 3/4 of the way up then it goes all the way back down closed/latched.
