A premier North Carolina ski resort, Sugar, with its 1,200 vertical, is considered to be the largest ski area in North Carolina, with 20 trails serviced by 8 lifts over a 115 acre area. 5-hour session (ages 8+). Located on the Sugar Mountain Golf Course, the 700-foot tube lanes are serviced by a Magic Carpet lift. The tour is roughly a mile and takes you up a few of the gentler ski slopes. That said, if you have your own gear, know how to ski, don't need anything but a lift ticket, Sugar will probably be okay for you.
